In early September 2020, the Creek Fire caused substantial damage to the Southern California Edison Mammoth Pool Penstock Shutoff Valve(PSV) building and the Hydraulic Power Unit(HPU) accumulator, and related components. Both the existing HPU and accumulator were a complete loss. The PSV, PSV actuator and related components also suffered damage.
SR Diversified(SRD) was contacted to assist in the restoration of the large 144in Mammoth Pool Penstock PSV, including the fabrication of an actuator arm locking device, the removal and reinstallation of the PSV hydraulic actuator, fire damaged concrete repairs, the removal and reinstallation of the 8 refurbished vacuum breaker valves, the refurbishment of all bypass and drain valves and the installation of a temporary HPU valve operating system including a temporary enclosure.
SRD provided the necessary equipment, skilled labor, and assistance in the design and the installation of various components including the design of the PSV actuator locking device, the plan for the removal and installation of the PSV hydraulic actuator and the design and construction of the Temporary HPU enclosure.
Due to SRD’s coordination skills, subject matter experts, supervision and appropriate manning, the Mammoth Pool Penstock PSV was placed back into service on time exceeding expectations satisfying the terms of the contract.

We reached out to SR Diversified as a consultant on a large multi building industrial park to help us assess the power requirements for the entire site. Their team of professionals quickly demonstrated their value and knowledge while delivering substation sizing, equipment needs, scheduling input and ROM pricing. We didn’t have the turnaround time we would normally have for a task like this. We took advantage of a collaborative meeting platform with all of our key players. The result was detailed information, solution driven options and all supply chain concerns addressed.
This is a specialized field and they proved to us they definitely know their business.
